At CareAline, our mission is to help patients live safely and fully by providing clinically proven vascular access securement devices to hospitals and patients. Our goal is to increase safety, comfort, and quality of life for patients in the hospital and at home.

Kezia Fitzgerald

CIO, Co-Founder

Kezia has always been a problem solver, creating and innovating solutions to many every day obstacles. She created and iterated the design of the CareAline® Sleeve for PICC Lines and the CVC Wrap for Central Lines while she and her daughter, Saoirse, were in treatment their cancers in 2011.

Kezia’s unique, proactive view of healthcare and talents for continuous innovation have spurred the creation of new products and designs to improve quality of life for patients and caregivers that also meet the needs of ever-changing hospital staff workflows and hospital safety protocols.

Mike Fitzgerald

Mike Fitzgerald

Mike is a lifetime cancer caregiver – beginning with helping care for his mother after her first cancer diagnosis when Mike was still in elementary school. With his wife, Kezia’s, and daughter, Saoirse’s, cancer diagnoses in 2011, he began taking care of them both full time. This experience has led him to be a passionate advocate for improved safety and quality of life for all patients, and those who care for them.

Passionate about the healthcare experience for pediatric patients, Mike continues to share his views and ideas on how technology can improve the experience for both patients and the families that care for them. He is on the board of advisors for AI in Medicine, and uses his over 40 years of caregiving experience to influence change in the pediatric healthcare space.

Erin Nadeau

COO, Clinical Educator

Erin was excited to join the CareAline team in the spring of 2019. As a 15 year veteran nurse with a background heavy in case management, she enjoys working with a team, and problem solving in order to promote healthier, safer and happier outcomes for patients.

Her clinical and direct case management experience spans many settings from home, skilled nursing and hospice. Case management required Erin to serve as a clinical liaison between patients and their families, physicians, various therapy specialists, and payors – which has provided her with a vast amount of knowledge in regards to the needs of individuals with complex medical diagnosis and multiple disease processes.

Shana is an internationally focused entrepreneur creating technology that makes an impact. Her passion is stimulated by developments in global health technology trends that use emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and blockchain. She has dedicated her career to finding the intersection between technology and transformational outcomes.
Claudia Hoyen, MD

Claudia Hoyen, MD

Chief Medical Advisor Director, Pediatric Infection Control, UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital

Claudia Hoyen, MD, is a pediatric infectious disease specialist in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology, and Medical Director, Infection Control at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease. Special interests include antimicrobial resistance, colonization with antibiotic-resistant pathogens and molecular epidemiology.

Dr. Hoyen’s research interests include pediatric infectious diseases and their molecular epidemiology. She has authored or coauthored more than two dozen papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at more than a dozen medical and scientific meetings. She is a member of the American Society for Microbiology, Infectious Disease Society of America and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society.

Cassie Brugger

Regulatory / Clinical Trial Advisor

With nearly a decade of healthcare experience spanning clinical trials, outcomes research, quality improvement, and assessment of new healthcare technology, Cassie is passionate about products and tools that help to deliver the right care at the right time for patients and their families. As a Program Coordinator for Research and Quality with Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Heart and Vascular Center, Cassie supports the Center’s participation in national clinical data registries for research, regulation, and reimbursement, as well as other quality initiatives.

Cassie holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Denver with a research focus on public health and health behaviors in vulnerable populations. She graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a minor in Political Science and Certification in Peace and Conflict Studies.
